Attack Of The Homeless Man
Your fearless scoopster here was at the Retiro train station early in the morning, filming an upcoming video for The Argentine Post, when, suddenly, out of the blue, a dirty, freaky-lookin’ homeless man started yelling.
I hadn’t seen the guy and wasn’t sure what was happening. By the time I realized what was going down, it was already too late. The result, which I just happened to record, was not cool.
The man came at me in full force, with a cup full of God-knows-what, which he threw at me. Adrenaline pumping, I fled, not wanting to do battle with a street kook just before going to the office.
I got away, but not before being completely doused with some kind of noxious mixture of coffee and, I’m afraid to say, chunks of vomit. It was pungent, sticky, and all over me.
I’m putting this post in the “humor” category, assuming that, at some point in the future, I will look back on this moment and find it funny.

Can I be the first to say sorry that happened to you?
Disgusting….
Each time you go to your job, lets pretend that you are in Viet nam…

Hi Jamie,
Thanks for your kind words. It could have been worse. Nobody got hurt. It was just a bit nasty. As for you Locro, what are you talking about? What has Vietnam got to do with anything?
Cheers,
Taos

Were you doing something? Why this crazy reaction?
That is not clear for me. In any case, it was disgusting. I am sorry for what had happened. But you should be more aware of train stations. This is not Union Station or Penn Station. This area is like a train station in the bronx.
In my city, St Louis now, a mob also attacked people in the Metrolink system.
They used to do this every morning. Now, all the stations have more security.
Urban cities are dangerous. Specially with this kind of crisis and economical environments, where many have fun, and others are out of the system.
Take care!
Retiro is gross, never mind the snuff-type magazines and the glue sniffing children; I was heading to the buses once and some idiot threw a bag of trash in front of me and under a passing train–the bag exploded and the liquid within splashed me in the face.
The psychological trauma of a lunatic throwing his own vomit at you, however, is harder to wash off. There’s nothing you could have done. At least you’ve published a scary video to remind all of just how seedy that place is. Next time, go undercover; grow a beard, black out some of your teeth, dirty your clothes and disguise the camera as a box of wine. Also, carry a cup of vomit coffee for payback in case you see that crazy bastard again.
Taos:
I’m from Clayton, and the Metrolink has extended its rails to near my house and a little further west (the County has slow-burned as many tax dollars as possible lately). I’m all for public transportation, as long as it goes beyond helping Cardinals fans avoid parking/DUIs once a week. It does seem that the mobs you speak of were attacking commuters if it was happening every morning. Maybe if there was a better commuter/mob ratio this wouldn’t be such a problem.
Sorry, the StL message was for Andy; the photo had me confused.
Suerte todos.
Hi, Taos
Let me explain….I was worn in Buenos Aires, but now I reside in province.
Each time I have to go to the capital I worry too much.
It could be due to my oncoming senility, but old people just feel like that.
Mostly in those days where people are killed for 20 pesos, panaderos, carniceros, comerciantes, simple every day hard working people, being assesinated just for fan, a whole youth claiming for their rights not working, not going to school, aand the rest just barking and burning all over in disgust for not having the plan mantengo….
You can see at 10 am. a whole bunch of people on the streets, not working, just yelling and burning radials…mostly of them do not have a candy type of bump in their cheeeks like the people from Bolivia (coca leaves) but they are under drugs parafernalia….I know the symptoms, used to work in a psych ward….
That is what I am talking about.
This guy saw in you a foreigner, so….be careful .
Run on yoursefl a bunch of basic test.
Just to make sure you have no hepatitis, or any other type of infection.dESINFECT your clothes of that day
A normal city is a normal city.
A PLACE LIKE THAT, where you need to keep your eyes open, is like walking in the middle of a enemy camp.
Sorry for telling you all that.Buenos Aires right NOW es tierra de nadie
THIS IS MY WAY OF THINKING AND i WILL KEEP THINKING LIKE that.
Until we can have gendarmeria all over the streets….Bs-AS. IS VIETNAM
