When I bought a home here, one piece of advice that was repeated among several locals was that if I ever had a robbery at my house that I should not let the police inside, in fact, I shouldn’t even report it, but if I did… don’t let them in.

Most of them said that I would either have stuff missing that same day or they would case it out for a future unannounced visit.

You can imagine that this enlightenment did not sit well with me.
